  • A paragraph about open educational resources (OER).  Describe these resources in your own words. Find an online resource (blog post about OER, examples of OER materials, an article about OER, etc.), provide a brief synopsis, and post the link to your blog.
    • Open Educational Resources (OER) are an amazing tool for teachers and students alike. These resources are free and can provide an amazing opportunity for students and educators on a limited budget. One OER is TEDED this resource provides a vast array of different lessons, blogs and videos. Another is the Open Textbook Library, this resource provides free textbooks for a variety of topics from math to psychology. Finally we have CK-12, this website also provides free textbooks with benchmarks from different schools in the US.
  • A paragraph on new skills you acquired from working on Assignment 4: PowerPoint for Information Dissemination. Reflect on what you like/don’t like about this assignment and how you can improve it next time. You can post a screenshot of the assignment (optional).
    • Assignment 4: PowerPoint for Information Dissemination gave me a chance to sharpen some PowerPoint skills I already had as well as new skills like adding voice to a PowerPoint. Assignment 4 allowed me to create an educational powerpoint for a "class" I was teaching. This reminded me of the pandemic when many teachers had to create narrated lectures for their distanced students. This assignment was fine my only complaint was that it was very technical in its requirements.

                Hello everyone, my name is Kristina Puig. I am a 3rd year student at FSU currently pursuing a degree in History with a minor in Education. I enjoy baking, cooking, fish-keeping, and playing many different types of video games. My favorite animals are cats (you can see my cat in a picture below) and fun fact they are not all that different genetically from tigers!               Technology has been around in my classroom for a long time, I went from very simple AR computers to full blown laptops throughout my education. I have used many different programs such as all of the office programs and their google counterparts. Technology has been a big part of the classroom whether it was for writing papers, taking tests, or even just researching different sources.   A paragraph about your experience using MS Word as a student (both in K-12 and at FSU). Do you prefer another word processing software (e.g., Google Docs or Pages)? If so, why do you prefer to use this word processing software? Microsoft Word has been a big part of my time as a student, I have been using MS Word since middle school and it has been very helpful. However, in highschool i started to use Google Docs and in my opinion this program is much better in both functionality and shareability. Google docs can be used on almost any device and can be updated from anywhere with real time updates without any extra steps. This program also makes it much easier to share a document with group members or teachers (you can even convert it into a MS Word document).
