A paragraph about open educational resources (OER).  Describe these resources in your own words. Find an online resource (blog post about OER, examples of OER materials, an article about OER, etc.), provide a brief synopsis, and  post the link to your blog. Open Educational Resources (OER) are an amazing tool for teachers and students alike. These resources are free and can provide an amazing opportunity for students and educators on a limited budget. One OER is TEDED this resource provides a vast array of different lessons, blogs and videos. Another is the Open Textbook Library, this resource provides free textbooks for a variety of topics from math to psychology. Finally we have CK-12, this website also provides free textbooks with benchmarks from different schools in the US. A paragraph on new skills you acquired from working on Assignment 4: PowerPoint for Information Dissemination. Reflect on what you like/don’t like about this assignment and how you can improve it...

https://mspuigeme2024.weebly.com/ A paragraph about your daily use of AI tools. Do you use AI tools? How do you use them? If you don't, why not? Are you motivated to use AI? Do you have any questions about the AI tools? I use AI in the workplace daily, I won't go much into Chat GPT as we will talk about it in the next section. Two AI tools I use frequently are Canva and Supermeme.ai these help me in my work and personal life. Canva is great to create flyers and even videos for my job as it provides me with many different templates. Supermeme.ai allows me to create memes for my coworkers and my friends recreationally.  A paragraph about your experience in using ChatGPT.  Describe your experience practicing using it (you can copy and paste your prompts and results). What did you learn about AI chatbots?   How has your perception of AI maintained or changed after reading the materials in this week's AI module? How might you address the potential risks or chal...

A paragraph about teacher pages on a school website. Some schools require teachers to maintain a set of class pages on the school website. Visit a school website and look at a few class pages. Write a paragraph about what kinds of information you see publicly (students and parents likely have access to the information you will not see without log-in privileges).  Include a link to the site.  https://terrawolves.com/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=1311847&type=u I looked at my old high school's school page, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic I do not remember ever using it aside from wanting to know what my teachers the next semester would look like. The website is very easy to navigate with basic information on the school and some outdated photos. The actual teacher pages rang from detailed and updated to very outdated COVID-19 class resources. Some teachers treat this as a get to know me or upload their syllabus on it.  A paragraph about how you envision yourself usi...

A paragraph about your initial experiences using Diigo. What do you like/not like about using Diigo?  Diigo is an OK platform, I didn’t find it overly helpful or overly useless either. Diigo reminds me of another similar program I have used in one of my other classes and I don’t remember students finding it very useful. While it is nice to see what others have commented or highlighted on a certain text it can be a bit overwhelming or even impossible to find useful comments. People are usually just commenting on it to make sure they get credit for an assignment. One way I can see to work around it is to make it not mandatory and purely for their own personal use.  A paragraph about your experience with blogging. What do you like/not like about blogging? What have you learned so far during the blogging process? Blogging isn’t my favorite thing in the world but I’ve done it recreationally before and it is not a terrible experience. I like having the freedom to choose every...

A paragraph about your early experiences using Twitter(X)/Instagram for your Personal Learning Network. With whom have you been interacting and how have you found it beneficial? How might Twitter(X)/Instagram be helpful in your future career? The accounts I’ve followed personally have not had much of an effect on my learning and network. I never really enjoyed using social media so that could be the reason as to my feeling on the matter. I don’t see a place for social media in education at all, I see it more as a hindrance. While funny educational videos might be somewhat useful you do also have to consider the other content on these sites. A paragraph about the digital divide. How does the digital divide affect student success in schools? What are some causes of the digital divide? Reflect on what you may experience as a classroom teacher and how this will affect your teaching strategies. The digital divide is a growing issue with todays students, some students still do not have...

A paragraph about the ELA technology standards. Select a grade level from the Standards and Technology Matrices for ELA .  Choose one of the standards listed and describe it in your own words. Do you feel prepared to implement this standard based on your current skill set?  Why or why not? I chose 9-12th grade for the ELA technology standards, the standard I chose was LAFS.1112.RI.3.7. This standard essentially said that it wants students to analyze and integrate different sources of information in different forms of media (paintings, articles, speeches, etc.) to solve a problem or answer a question. I believe that I can implement this standard just fine. History is luckily one of the few subjects that actually have to analyze different media sources as it can be found recorded on practically anything.  A paragraph about one of the resources or tools in the CPALMS Educator Toolkit. To access the Educator Toolkit, select "I am a Florida Teacher" on the CPALMS home ...

A paragraph about copyright and fair use. How would you deal with these concepts as a teacher, developing your own instructional materials, and having students create their own works? Have you learned anything new about it? Are there any lingering questions, concerns, or ideas? Feel free to share your reflection. Copyright and fair use is not a common issue for teachers in my personal opinion, unless they are trying to do worksheets or a premade powerpoint. It could be that I do not have much experience in that matter but I have not heard my teachers struggling with copyright issues. As a teacher I would try to work in a school that has plenty of resources for me and my students so I hopefully do not have to worry about copyright and fair use. I would love to learn of the obstacles teachers face with them seeing as I don’t know much about this topic.   A paragraph about technology implementation issues. Select one of the technology implementation issues listed below. Pr...
